Haggis Hunt Day 5 – Glenelg to Big Sand (via Applecross)

After a brisk start to the day, we decided to travel some local byways and see some of the beautiful sights. 20170817_065243

The Applecross pass (Bealach na ba) was very impressive – as we reached the summit, the fog hit us and visibility was just a few feet. I’m sure the view from the top is stunning!

20170817_171914Lunch at The Walled Garden was delicious and reasonably priced – £6.50 for smoked haddock chowder, £6.25 for smoked pork baguettes with apple sauce.  Camping at Big Sand is very well reviewed – the pitches were well kept, camp site was nice and tidy, facilities were great. The shop was well stocked and seems to be a big hit with visitors!
